With today's announcement of Graphrex version 0.2 (still a beta), we officially start looking ahead to version 0.3. At the moment we see the main goal of the next release as being to fill in some functions we think are still missing and are needed to graduate from beta status.
We would like to ask for your help to guide us in choosing the function to develop: either what we are already planning or perhaps something else entirely. Please give us your feedback in this forum.
Among those we are actively considering are:
- An Eclipse preferences page, so that users can control the various colors and annotation styles that are currently hard-wired. Not to mention the font used in diagrams and now in the Regex view. Currently the font works fine in Windows, but we're not sure about other platforms.
- Highlighting of the span within a regular expression that corresponds to a selected node in the diagram. (Selecting a node in the diagram already selects the corresponding node in the Outline view). This requires some work as our regex parser has to be extensively re-worked to capture that information. Let us know if you think that's something that could wait.
- Help. We need to write some help text and wire Graphrex into Eclipse's help infrastructure. Let us know what is particulary obscure in Graphrex so that we can focus our attention there first.
That's it for the moment. We'll appreciate your feedback.
